Dr. Tunga is serving as a ‘Librarian’ with Associate Rank and GB Member at Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College, Naihati-743165, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India from November, 1998, before that he served as ‘Project Assistant’ at Library, Documentation & Information Science Division of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata in 1997. Dr. Tunga obtained Ph. D. degree from Department of Library & Information Science (DLIS), University of Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal in 2015. He has experience in teaching as Guest Teacher in DLIS, University of Kalyani since 1999, as ‘Academic Counselor’ in DLIS, Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) in the Personal Contact Programme (PCP) of B.L.I.Sc. since 2009 and as Course Writer & Academic Counselor at Director of Open & Distance Learning (DODL), University of Kalyani, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal, India, during 2009-2010, for Teaching M Phil Course. He guided 17 M.L.I.Sc. Dissertations submitted to DLIS, University of Kalyani, NSOU and IGNOU. He has 57 Research Publications in various National and International Journals and Conferences, and 4 Books to his credit in the field of LIS. He has also participated in various National and International Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and also different training programmes. His area of interest lays in Bibliometric Analysis, E-resources, Information Seeking Behaviour, Information Sources, System & Services, and also Library Statistics. He is the Life Member of Indian Library Association (ILA), Delhi, Indian Association for Special Libraries & Information Centre (IASLIC), Kolkata, Delhi Library Association (DLA), Madras Library Association (MALA), Chennai, West Bengal College Librarians’ Association (WBCULA), Kolkata and Bengal Library Association (BLA), Kolkata.
