Our Urgent, "Short n Sweet", MUST KNOW Updates!
PRAISES
The first few days of our long trip have been amazing. We spent time with 9 colleagues and 5 BMM retirees (who chose to stay and continue ministering in their 80s!)
God is growing OUR knowledge of His incredible impact in other places of our beautiful country as we witnessed firsthand how powerfully the seminary here has impacted lives, communities, and other countries for 80 years.
Dave's time with the teen guys was SO special and they want more! He gave them some "homework" on biblical manhood to learn about so they can talk more on their next outing.
Another church plant property will be purchased tomorrow in Sapé, where there was NO Gospel voice until our missionaries moved in a few months ago!
PLEASE PRAY
for Renato, Daiane, Letícia and Rean's salvation.
that Christian (the deacon Dave's finishng pastoral traning with) and family will be able to move soon. There's still work to do before they can, but the ungodly people in the "compound" they're currently in are causing lots of trouble.
For Denise and Paula who both had babies last week!!
Bryan, Davi and Dave eating and talking BIBLICAL MANHOOD!
Cícero, a former priest who's venerated in the area where our seminary is, has a HUGE statue and following . . .
. . . "Prayer" ribbons/promises are EVERYWHERE!!
Over 700 people were present for the 3-day 80th anniversary celebration of our seminary. 2 other seminaries in Brazil are headed up by gradutes of this one (which is also 100% nationalized now!)
Márcio and Lú were young teen campers when we rebooted our youth camp in 1987. They both surrendered to God's call through our ministry and have been pastoring and teaching in northeast Brazil for over 30 years as a result!

PRAISES
Duda has continued coming to church with her Dad and after Dave gave her a Bible, said, "I really want to stay on this path with God!"
The Brazilian pastors have been fired up and really engaged since Dave started their meetings up again.
We had just finished using up the funds we'd received to cover 6 months worth of Christian working at the retreat center and THE SAME DAY we prayed about it, we got word of a gift that's going to carry us through 6 MORE months (and no one knew about this need but the Lord and us . . . NO ONE!!)
PLEASE PRAY
for our LONG trip to Northeast Brazil for 5 weeks, starting next week. We expect it to be really good but it'll also be tiring. We would LOVE to not get sick at all and have great energy and stamina, mentally, emotionally and physically!
for salvation for Renato, Daiane and Rean.
for Dave this Saturday as (at THEIR REQUEST) he'll be spending some time with 3 of our teen guys so they can "pick his brain" and just learn . . .
For Those Who Want More . . .
We joined BMM in 1984, after God made His will and call for our lives unmistakably clear. After finishing college and raising support we moved to the 3rd largest city in the world, referred to as a "mini-continent" because at 26 million, it's population is larger than 3/4 of the worl'd's countries! It's the mega-metropolis of São Paulo, Brazil; extremely urban with the unique challenges this type of city presents to ministry.
We've been privileged to revitalize and expand a youth camp, plant 4 churches and help revitalize one more, as well as host over 1600 "short-termers" on mission trips, sent from dozens of US churches.
We have entered a new phase of ministry where we are shepherding Brazilian pastors and their wives both formally and informally, as well as training new pastors and lay leaders. We also have the honor of shepherding our BMM Brazil colleagues, training new missionaries as they start pre-field ministry, and participating in BMM's Global ministry through vision casting, strategic planning, and even ongoing professional development for our missionaries around the world!
