PRAISES
We got just enough funding to make the MK retreat EPIC like we'd dreamed. The times in the Word were special and there were fun surprises every day! We were even able to give each MK some spending money! (Check out a few awesome pics below!)
150 military police officers at the largest battalion in our city heard the Gospel CLEARLY!
Colonel Allyson told us that their door is wide open to us any time. He even shared that a while back he gave a lecture on narco-trafficking to the FBI in the U.S.! So we're already excited about NEXT time.
The BMM Member Care counselors got their VISAS in under 24 hours!!! A miracle FOR SURE!!!

for our son-in-law Nathan to get a new job.
for our health, and wisdom to pace ourselves between hosting groups that will keep coming through mid-January! It's a big responsibility but also a huge privilege.
for a VERY delicate brain tumor removal that a colleague's son is having on the 11th. The BIGGEST request is that the Lord would choose to allow Joshua to keep what little vision he still has (20% in ONE EYE ONLY - already 0% in the other).
This was Dave's view of the cops. They were SO respectful and sang their Miltary Police anthem at full attention before we started. A CRAZY little thing is that the retired cop from Texas has the SAME LAST NAME as us . . . dos Santos!!!
It was only sunny for a few hours on JUST ONE DAY and they took full advantage of it!
S'more's TWICE + S'more's Pizza, AND. . .
for the FIRST TIME EVER, we actually found "American-type" pumpkins that they got to carve!!!
A FIRST in São Paulo, we surprised them with a trip to a trampoline park, complete with ice cream!
Needless to say, it was an absolute BLAST!
They got a ride on Latin America's biggest Ferris Wheel with Caramel corn and Sodas!
The only bad thing after EIGHT EPIC DAYS was saying goodbye . . . Lots of tears, yet lots of gratitude AND all of them being able to say, "See you in 4 months!" instead of a whole year.

We welcomed Ellis James into the world on the 2nd!! Both he and momma Caitlyn are doing well!
Our trip home was great. No hitches or problems whatsoever!
The Children's Day event was a HIT! There were over 80 children and 10 parents present!
Translating for the retired cop from Texas is going well. There's one more opportunity, Wednesday, and it's to police officers at one of the batallions, so keep praying!
The 2nd multi-church men's gathering went very well!

We joined BMM in 1984, after God made His will and call for our lives unmistakably clear. After finishing college and raising support we moved to the 3rd largest city in the world, referred to as a "mini-continent" because at 26 million, it's population is larger than 3/4 of the worl'd's countries! It's the mega-metropolis of São Paulo, Brazil; extremely urban with the unique challenges this type of city presents to ministry.
We've been privileged to revitalize and expand a youth camp, plant 4 churches and help revitalize one more, as well as host over 1600 "short-termers" on mission trips, sent from dozens of US churches.
We have entered a new phase of ministry where we are shepherding Brazilian pastors and their wives both formally and informally, as well as training new pastors and lay leaders. We also have the honor of shepherding our BMM Brazil colleagues, training new missionaries as they start pre-field ministry, and participating in BMM's Global ministry through vision casting, strategic planning, and even ongoing professional development for our missionaries around the world!
