PRAISES
Our sending church's new pastor, Phil Cox, came for a visit with his wife and daughter, along with great friends of ours (who head up the missions' committee). We had SO MANY amazing times and LOTS of great coffee!
Josh’s tumor surgery was successful!! The Lord spared his eyesight and we're all SO VERY GRATEFUL and rejoicing!! Just 8 days later he was HERE with us at an early Thanksgiving celebration with some colleagues and friends. We surrounded him and prayed for him as we also thanked God for his recovery.
8 new members were added to IBCA, and Christian, whom Dave is wrapping up pastoral training with, was officially and unanimously voted in to work alongside Pastor Alex with the plan to become his assistant in a year!
PLEASE PRAY
for our energy and wisdom as well as safety as we host a group of 5 pastors arriving Monday for 5 days.
for the final details as we're already wrapping up all the prep to host a college group from January 5-18. Week 2 of their time with us will be mainly focused on a HUGE SUMMER VBS!
as our son-in-law Nathan continues his job search. He's had some great interviews, but no good option so far.

PRAISES
We got just enough funding to make the MK retreat EPIC like we'd dreamed. The times in the Word were special and there were fun surprises every day! We were even able to give each MK some spending money! (Check out a few awesome pics below!)
150 military police officers at the largest battalion in our city heard the Gospel CLEARLY!
Colonel Allyson told us that their door is wide open to us any time. He even shared that a while back he gave a lecture on narco-trafficking to the FBI in the U.S.! So we're already excited about NEXT time.
The BMM Member Care counselors got their VISAS in under 24 hours!!! A miracle FOR SURE!!!

for our son-in-law Nathan to get a new job.
for our health, and wisdom to pace ourselves between hosting groups that will keep coming through mid-January! It's a big responsibility but also a huge privilege.
for a VERY delicate brain tumor removal that a colleague's son is having on the 11th. The BIGGEST request is that the Lord would choose to allow Joshua to keep what little vision he still has (20% in ONE EYE ONLY - already 0% in the other).

We joined BMM in 1984, after God made His will and call for our lives unmistakably clear. After finishing college and raising support we moved to the 3rd largest city in the world, referred to as a "mini-continent" because at 26 million, it's population is larger than 3/4 of the worl'd's countries! It's the mega-metropolis of São Paulo, Brazil; extremely urban with the unique challenges this type of city presents to ministry.
We've been privileged to revitalize and expand a youth camp, plant 4 churches and help revitalize one more, as well as host over 1600 "short-termers" on mission trips, sent from dozens of US churches.
We have entered a new phase of ministry where we are shepherding Brazilian pastors and their wives both formally and informally, as well as training new pastors and lay leaders. We also have the honor of shepherding our BMM Brazil colleagues, training new missionaries as they start pre-field ministry, and participating in BMM's Global ministry through vision casting, strategic planning, and even ongoing professional development for our missionaries around the world!
