I am a Mathematician (BSc, 2013), Master of Science in Applied Mathematics (MSc, 2016), and Doctor of Engineering in Systems and Computing (Ph.D., 2024) from the National University of Colombia. Visiting Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland (HES-SO Valais/Wallis, 2021). Currently an Assistant Professor and Program Director for Data Science at the University of La Sabana. My research is focused on developing deep learning-based machine learning models as diagnosis support mechanisms using medical images and clinical data. I am also engaged in theoretical research on the development of quantum machine learning models, contributing to the theoretical foundation of these algorithms. I was honored with the Academic Excellence Award for four consecutive years (2008-2011) for outstanding academic achievements. In 2013, I was awarded the Teaching Assistant Scholarship to support my master's studies, and in 2019, I received Google's Latin America Research Award for my doctoral thesis proposal. My doctoral thesis was awarded Summa Cum Laude distinction.
