I am a Mathematician (BSc, 2013), Master of Science in Applied Mathematics (MSc, 2016), and Doctor of Engineering in Systems and Computing (Ph.D., 2024) from the National University of Colombia. Visiting Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO Valais/Wallis, 2021). Currently, I am Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Master in Applied Analytics at the University of La Sabana. My research focuses on the development of deep learning based machine learning models as diagnostic support mechanisms using medical images and clinical data. I also conduct theoretical research on the development of machine learning models, contributing to the theoretical foundations of these algorithms. I was awarded the Academic Excellence Award for four consecutive years (2008-2011) for outstanding academic achievement. In 2013, I received the Teaching Assistant Scholarship to support my master's studies, and in 2019, I received Google's Latin America Research Award for my Ph.D. thesis proposal. My dissertation was awarded with Merit distinction.
