The mission of the Santana High School football program is to field a team that excels on the field, achieves in the classroom, and positively impacts our school and community. Santana values the lessons that have long been taught by football participation: the pursuit of excellence through personal development and teamwork, ethical and responsible behavior on the field and off. Santana strives to create an atmosphere of enthusiastic volunteerism and support within the organization of Santana parents, players, coaches, and the surrounding community to develop the most competitive football program possible, and to help each player achieve the best possible football experience.

Head Coach: Tim Estes
Coach Estes has been our head coach since 2012, but he has been coaching at Santana since 2000. Before becoming a Sultan, he made stops all across the county including Mt. Miguel, El Cajon, and Mar Vista with our former head coach Dave Gross.

The 2021 Sweewater game was our 50th win as HC
Coach Gross was Coach Estes' high school coach
Coach Estes was student teaching at Santana during the shooting in 2001
Coach Estes was an all CIF safety at Rosamond High school in 1986
Coach Taylor is Coach Estes' daughter. She played while she was a student at Santana and graduated in 2015, along with playing 2 seasons with the San Diego Surge semi-pro women's team.
Coach Estes and Coach Taylor are also Track and Field coaches (Coach Taylor is the head coach)
