What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a technique that is performed to have younger, smoother and cleaner skin. With this procedure, the skin is naturally renewed, helping to eliminate scars and reduce wrinkles.
Why is it done?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive aesthetic procedure that removes the most superficial layers of the skin. It is similar to peeling but less aggressive.
This reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves stretch marks, reduces hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores, reduces signs of aging and sun exposure, and increases circulation for healthier skin.
What does it consist of?
The treatment consists of promoting cell regeneration, increasing collagen production and elasticity.
To do this, a sweep is carried out on the outer layer of the epidermis and the skin is polished with tiny diamond or aluminum tips, with which blemishes, wrinkles and blemishes generated in recent months are eliminated. In this sense, it is possible to improve the consistency of the skin, give it a lighter and pinker tone and a softer touch.
Normally the treatment lasts between 35 and 40 minutes.
Preparation for Microdermabrasion
Before undergoing a microdermabrasion treatment, the dermatologist may indicate creams to prepare the skin, which will be applied up to 48 hours before. In addition, it is important to carry out the treatment with clean skin and without traces of makeup or dirt.
Care after the intervention
This treatment requires no recovery time and, after the microdermabrasion treatment, it is important to apply a soothing cream and sunscreen.
Alternatives to Microdermabrasion Treatment
One of the alternatives to this aesthetic treatment is peeling, although it is a more invasive procedure, since it acts in deeper layers of the dermis.
