I am a Researcher in Atomic Physics with research interest in ultra-cold atoms and quantum degenerate gases with particular interest in few-body physics with ultra-cold atoms, Anderson localisation of matter waves in disordered potentials and Quantum Entanglement with ultra-cold Rydberg atoms.
I did my PhD from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai under the guidance of Prof. C. S. Unnikrishnan where I built up an experiment to realise all-optical Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in optical traps and 1D optical lattices. We successfully realised the first Bose-Einstein condensate in India in an all-optical dipole trap and in a 1D optical lattice. In the photograph: Our BEC team, TIFR Mumbai
I did my first Post-Doc at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel, Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris and worked on metastable He BEC experiment in the Lab of Prof. Claude-Cohen Tannoudji and Prof. Michele Leduc. In 2010, I worked as a CNRS Post-Doctoral Researcher in Institut d'Optique, Palaiseau, France in the group of Prof. Phillipe Grangier where I worked on ERC project DELPHI: Deterministic Logical Photon-Photon Interactions. In the photograph: Institut d'Optique Quantum Optics Group.
In 2011, I joined as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) and Dipartimento di Fisica e Astronomia, Florence, Italy in 2011 in the Lab of Prof. Massimo Inguscio and Prof. Giovanni Modugno where I worked on few-body physics and disorder physics with Bose-Einstein condensates.
