If your answer is yes for query number 3) , then what happens if we consider regular octagon abcdefgh as shown in the figure below.

As you will compute you will find 8 rotational and 8 reflective symmetries. But star-shaped figure is also regular with 8 arms.

Here is something to workout: We have studied the group of symmetries of an equilateral triangle D_3 or D_6 (whatever you say). Can you translate whole things into modular arithmetic?
