MBCT as a way of neural network reconfiguration

 Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) can lead to brain neural network reconfiguration, modifying the executive control network (ECN), default mode network (DMN), and salience network (SN) , which are linked to improved attention, self-awareness, and emotional regulation. This neural flexibility allows the brain to shift away from rigid patterns of rumination and distress, breaking up associative networks that contribute to psychological distress. Studies have shown that MBCT can improve structural and functional network reconfiguration efficiency, providing a biological basis for MBCT's observed benefits on well-being and cognitive functions.
