Hatteras Island FC is passionate about it's community. Since its unofficial founding many years ago, it has always been about more that just soccer. Soccer is the platform for which we at HIFC have chose to impact the community through. Our little island and it's people are what make what we do possible. Mother nature gives so much to us everyday. With good surf, a flat sound, or just a pretty beach day, any of these could lead to a cancelled soccer session. We thought a beach clean-up would be a great way to give back to mother nature herself. 

Participating in the beach clean gets you quite a discount in your tournament cost. This is to encourage participation and giving back to our environment!

Team participation rules: 

For our adult teams:

 If 75% of your team participates in the clean, you will receive $100 off your tournament entry fee! *(your roster requires 6 people. If 5 out of 6 participate in the clean, you qualify for a discount. Max roster can be 9. If you have a roster of 9, 7 of your team members must show up for your team to qualify for a discount.)

If you have less than the required show up, do not worry! You still get a price cut of $50! So if just one person shows up from your team, you get $50 off! (You must sign in for your discount to count. Sign in will be available at each station set our for the beach clean-up) 

Youth individual participation rules:

For the youth (18 and under) it is a little different. If you participate in the clean up (14 and under need adult supervision) You get $10 off the original $40 price! 

Awards for what?  There is an award for our youth individual participants. People are awarded a service award plaque. This plaque will be given to the kids who show the most enthusiasm about cleaning up our beaches. Best vibes win!

How do you decide who wins? There will be sponsors at each station ready to collect the trash picked up by our participants. Bags will be supplied upon arrival. Each station will collect your trash at the end. Judges will base winners based on most enthusiastic beach cleaner! 

When will we know who won? Winners will be announced at the championship game of each division during the tournament. 

What do you win? Along with the most outstanding honors that can be offered, you will also win a plaque to ensure no one ever forgets your community efforts!
