Our names are Josh and Jeana Roach. We grew up in Southern Illinois, moved to Tampa for several years, and have rooted our family in Jackson, MO. In 2016, we started Sandlot Legends Camp in Jackson with approximately 20 campers. Now, we have been welcomed into and are serving 5 communities with more than 300 baseball and softball families. Summer 2026 will be our 10th Anniversary... and counting!
Coach Josh Roach
Coach Josh Roach is a 1998 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. While attending he played baseball, football, and basketball. He was a 3-yr varsity starter and received All-Region, All-Conference and Pitcher of the Year awards in the Wildcats program. He played four years of collegiate baseball (2 yrs at Shawnee Community College and 2 yrs at Western Illinois University on athletic scholarships).
In 2003, he served an intership with the New York Yankees organization for spring training. During that time, he worked under the video coordinator, capturing video of players for the scouting director. Once completing the internship, Coach Roach spent 7 years in the Yankee organization doing many things with the major league players, as well as developmental minor league players. During his time, the Yankee organization won the 2009 WS against the Phillies, an experience he will never forget. He developed a love for coaching, being mentored by many great ones in the organization and landed his first spot, ironically, at Steinbrenner High School in Tampa, Florida. From 2012-14, he helped the program win two district titles and one sectional.
From 2014-2019, he coached under Bryan Austin as OF and hitting coach. During that time the Jackson Baseball Program secured three district titles and two sectional titles. Coach Roach also served as an assistant for one year and HC for three years for the Jackson High School Softball Program winning a conference championship during that time. From 2015-19, Coach Roach also served as a Head Baseball Coach for the TRIBE developmental program.
In 2021-22, Coach Roach returned to Jackson and served under Tatum Kitchen as HC of the Freshman Baseball at Jackson High School and also served as Asst. Varsity Coach to Shawn Wilding in the Jackson High School Softball program.
In 2022, Coach Roach took over the Jackson Indian Baseball Program. Since then, the Indians have won two district titles, have had two quarter final appearances and one final four appearance. The program is continuing to be built on preparation, competing with a purpose, owning your own development, respecting all parts of the game, and putting team first.
