Virginia Bigler-Engler Memorial Student Award - 2023

We are officially announcing the 2023 San Diego Chapter of the American Meteorological Society Virginia Bigler-Engler Memorial Student Award.  This one-time award of $1000 will be given to a student who is planning to attend a university and pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree in meteorology, oceanography or other closely related field, for the academic year 2023-2024.  Click here to download the application.  Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested in this student award.

The deadline is April 23, 2023 (11:59 PM PDT) for our receipt of the application, including a letter of recommendation.  We request that you submit a completed application (including essay question) by e-mail to Brandt Maxwell (brandt.maxwell@noaa.gov), and the person providing the letter of recommendation shall send that by email directly to Brandt Maxwell as well.

The 2023 board members of the San Diego Chapter of the American Meteorological Society will select the recipient of the student award.  We plan to announce the recipient in May 2023, with the award ceremony as a part of a San Diego Chapter meeting (likely also in May 2023).
