As of March 20, 2023, Bhai Amritpal Singh Ji remains a fugitive, as per the Punjab Police. The apparent denial of his custody, despite the circulation of viral videos depicting his apprehension from the Shahkot police station, is a troubling reflection of the possible authoritarianism exercised by the Indian and Punjab governments. Bhai Sahab departed from his home on March 18th at 8:30 am IST, and the police did not immediately pursue him. Bhai Sahab's uncle stated that they encountered a police checkpoint soon after departing from his home. However, the police did not arrest him, and he was allowed to leave. Subsequently, they encountered another checkpoint where they were not stopped for an investigation. Subsequently, the police began chasing Bhai Amritpal Singh Ji and apprehended 78 other Sikh youths, whom Indian media has branded as terrorists, with many potentially facing charges under the National Security Act (NSA). All this is for selling drugs and keeping genociding Punjabis without any interference.
Oh, and by the way, It is worth noting that Bhai Sahab's alleged crimes are so severe that the state had no alternative but to capture him, along with his supporters, as if he were a terrorist. The severity of his crimes is such that the internet access of Punjab's 27.8 million population has been suspended for the past three days, with no indication of when it will be restored, all in the pursuit of the success of "Operation Amritpal." Bhai Sahab's crime, as it appears, is that he inspired the local population to shun drugs and return to their cultural and religious roots, which are intrinsically tied to Punjab. I urge you to verify this information for yourself if you doubt its authenticity.
The abundance of information available on the internet can be overwhelming and often unreliable. Unfortunately, this is not surprising given the tendencies of the Indian media to cater to those in power. The arrest of Bhai Sahab is believed by many to be linked to Sidhu Moosewala, and anyone who denies this is either uninformed or biased toward those in power. The purpose of this system is to prevent as many people as possible from attending the first death anniversary of Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu in Mansa. For that unaware, Sidhu was shot and killed by six gangsters on May 29th, 2022 at around 5:00 PM IST. His parents, as well as the rest of us, have been waiting for justice for the past year. The system is clearly involved, as they saw Sidhu as a threat to their power and position due to his influence on the youth. Despite receiving death threats throughout his career due to his unwavering personality, Sidhu's entry into Punjab politics brought him under the system's radar. When justice was not served for nearly a year, his parents decided to protest outside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha office. However, the government shifted the blame onto Sidhu and claimed that it was his fault he died as he was not cautious enough, a shockingly appalling move.
It is difficult to comprehend how the authorities could assume that the general public is incapable of recognizing their efforts to manipulate events. Additionally, it is concerning that some media outlets appear to have convinced themselves that they are the sole providers of information, leading them to assume that their audiences will blindly accept whatever they report. I find myself struggling to find clarity amidst a sea of questions, and am utilizing these posts as an outlet to express my accumulated frustration and anger regarding my community's years of suppression.
Furthermore, it is disconcerting that law enforcement has reportedly deployed personnel to the airport with the intention of staging an arrest for Bhai Amritpal Singh Ji, insinuating that he is attempting to flee the country by altering his appearance, when in fact he is already in custody. What is the Indian government attempting to convey with these perplexing actions? A friend of mine recently commented on how smaller communities or nations are often subjected to pressure from those who possess greater power. However, our community has demonstrated resilience despite enduring genocide, the loss of our loved ones to Pathans, Mughals, Pahari Raje, and other oppressors throughout history, and now once again with the actions of the Indian government. Despite this, I remain steadfast in my commitment to doing what is right, both in this world and the next.

Hey there, it's been a while since my last update, and boy, a lot has happened in the past three weeks since I returned from my incredible trip to India. This journey has been an eye-opener, teaching me valuable lessons and helping me confront some inner struggles that I'd been avoiding for far too long.
During my time in India, I realized just how privileged I've been and that not everything comes easily in life. I had some regrets and faced the challenge of not getting everything I wanted, which forced me to confront my suppressed feelings and confront my past actions. It's been a transformative experience that made me appreciate the importance of doing the right thing firsthand, without relying on second chances.
On a more personal note, I lost an important person during my trip, and it made me realize the significance of cherishing the people who matter most in our lives. I also had some issues with close friends, and while I take some responsibility for it, I believe there are lessons to be learned and amends to be made.
While I'd love to vent about a family issue, I'll leave that out for now. I guess money will solve that for me but again on second thought money can't change the dynamics of how worse my inter-family relations have gotten. So let's leave that part out of this update for now.
Let's focus on the positive part of this update – my life after landing back in Canada! I had one goal in mind since I landed on July 13th: to secure a job in my field. Even though I had applied for around 100s of jobs I only received calls from three potential employers and guess what? I received not one but two job offers! Woohoo! I guess not bad for a guy who thought he will never land a job considering how he finished his degree. Well, I guess I have been really lucky throughout my life, but this time around I can proudly say I worked hard for landing these jobs. Aecon offered me a position as a GIS Technician, and Parsons came through with an opportunity as an Environmental Coordinator.
Now comes the tough part – deciding which path to take. Both jobs offer the same pay rate and starting date, but they differ in other ways. Aecon, being a top infrastructure company in Canada, has an enticing job working with LIDAR and GPS data in an office setting. On the other hand, Parsons is offering a full-time position with unparalleled exposure and experience in various environmental science sectors, including both GIS and fieldwork! Knowing me I guess I am not the typical office guy and mixing a little bit of field in my job is what I have always wanted to do. I guess my main reason for picking up geography in Trent was that I did not want to be bound to my office chair all day sticking my eyes on the computer. The opportunity to mix some fieldwork into my job is something I've always desired.
So I guess I already know which job resonates with my heart, and I'm excited about the adventures that lie ahead!
P.S. I can't express enough gratitude to my incredible friends, who've been my rock during this transitional period. They've been my guardian angels when I needed support the most.
Thank you all for being a part of my journey, and I'll be sure to return to this page with more updates as I face new challenges and embrace fresh opportunities. Stay tuned, and let's continue this amazing journey together!
