MSc Industrial Engineer
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Enthusiast
An Engineer at heart and my career has been deeply influenced by the curiosity to learn and passion for engineering. I have always been fascinated by manufacturing process and love how different parts of process come together to make the final product.
Growing up in Latur, a small city in central west part of India, I completed my high-school and junior college and moved to Pune to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Vishwakarma Institute Technology. As a member of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) organization for 2 years, I got an opportunity to visit multiple manufacturing industries. These brief visits sparked my interest in interning at Atlas Copco India's Nashik Plant during 2nd Summer break and exposed me to a different side of manufacturing. Inspired by this internship, I completed a project at Volkswagen India's Pune plant as a part of my curriculum where as a team of 3 students, we worked on process stabilization of Tailgate carrier fitment issue in Pilot Hall. I was thrilled by this experience and decided to switch from traditional coursework only option for bachelor's to Mechanical Sandwich program. This allowed me to work full-time for 7 months at General Motors India's Pune plant as a Manufacturing Engineer and experience mass production of automobiles on a much deeper level. The experience at General Motors India exposed me to lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies in practice which influenced my decision to pursue higher education.
I moved to USA to pursue Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University, Boston. Boston and Cambridge area being biotech hub of Northeastern USA, medical device industries fascinated me and I decided to work at Abiomed Inc. I worked in Manufacturing Department as a Supplier Engineer (co-op/ intern) learning about supply chain, quality engineering, new product introduction and production engineering departments through cross-functional projects. This opportunity also gave me a platform to collaborate, brainstorm and deliver on projects on an international scale.
After graduating with my master's degree, I moved back to my hometown during the pandemic of Covid-19 and it has affected my career much like everyone else. However, I am fortunate enough to have an opportunity to work as a Process Engineer at Subhash Udyog, a local Dall Mill, in Latur where I'm currently working to put my skills into practice and learn more about the food processing industry.
This diverse experience in different countries and industries has equipped me with a strong understanding and perspective of different cultures and social behaviors. It has allowed me to not only enjoy brainstorming and collaborating with my colleagues, but to also work well independently depending on the project that needs to be done. This excites me to put my skills and knowledge to use in an environment that is challenging.
Looking forward to connecting with you! Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
