Prospective PhD students should apply to the UNC Charlotte Health Psychology PhD Program under the Behavioral Science concentration. I am recruiting a graduate student to start in the Fall 2027 semester. The deadline to apply is December 2, 2026.
Prospective Masters students should apply to the UNC Charlotte Masters of Arts in Psychology Program. I am also affiliated with the Cognitive Science certificate. I am recruiting graduate students to start in the Fall 2027 semester. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2027.
Prospective PhD and Masters students are encouraged to email me before the application deadline to discuss our shared research interests and whether my lab would be a good fit for your graduate education.
I will be recruiting a limited number of undergraduate students to join my lab in the Spring 2027 semester. There are two methods of applying for and receiving compensation for working in my lab:
Registering for PSYC 3806 for 3 credits (9 hours a week). This is the most common way to work in my lab. If you are interested in joining the lab for course credit, please fill out this application by October 14th. I will accept applications after this date, but given the limited number of available positions, please apply by this date for best consideration. Once you submit your application, we will find time to have a conversation and discuss whether my research lab is a good fit for you.
As part of the OUR Academic Year Program for monetary compensation (9 hours a week). My project is listed as Sleep, Memory, and Creative Problem Solving. Applications are open from September 14-October 14. Please make sure to apply before the deadline and choose my lab as one of the labs you are interested in. Please note that applying through OUR does not guarantee you will work in my lab. As part of the process I identify multiple students that are a good fit for my lab and then OUR looks across all students and all projects to assign a limited number (perhaps only one) of those students to my project and the other students to other projects. Therefore, even if I would love to work with you, you may not be matched to my project through OUR.
Once you have submitted your application, please email me so we can find a time to meet and discuss whether you would be a good fit for the lab.
