Statement
As Port Commissioner I will promote environmental stewardship, fiscal responsibility, transparency in government, and accountability to the democratic process.
Through my master’s degree in public administration and years of public service I have effectively worked on core issues that impact the lives of our region’s residents, all while prioritizing being a change agent in diversity, equity and inclusion to protect our most vulnerable communities.
I will work in partnership with local businesses and community organizations to better serve our beautiful region. With collaboration and responsible environmental stewardship, we can implement proactive programs that help tackle the climate crisis and protect our land and waterways. I will integrate environmental policies and considerations into all aspects of the Port’s strategic planning and business decision-making. These considerations are vital as they influence the socioeconomic and environmental heartbeat of our region. My goal is to strengthen the integrity and transparency of the public contracting process and the competitive nature of public procurement, as well as promote the efficient and transparent use of Port resources. I will maximize economic investment in public contracting, creating conditions in which everyone can participate, prosper, and achieve equitable outcomes with respect to the Port of Olympia decision-making processes.
