What is SQW?
What is SQW?
SQW stands for Skilling Queenslanders for Work. (SQW) assists eligible Queenslanders develop skills, gain qualifications and provide direct assistance to enter and stay in the workforce.
The initiative offers seven programs that deliver training to improve skills and employment opportunities.
We currently deliver the Certificate I in Construction (CPC10120) and the Certificate I in Conservation & Eco-System Management (AHC10120).
Our SQW programs are located at SANDBAG’s premises and at several other not-for-profit community organisations in the local area.
Skilling Queenslanders for work is proudly funded by the Queensland Government.

Supports & Activities
We provide a range of supports and activities that aim to create and contribute to diverse and resilient community. This includes direct Community Activities, Supports and Programs and a range of Business and Social Enterprise Initiatives.
We provide participants with:
Gaining a relevant experience in high demand industries.
Complimentary licences and tickets relating to their qualification.
Connections with employers ready to hire.
Talks from industry experts.
Complete wrap around support.
Basic warehousing skills.
Upskilling in technology.
Individualised career sculpting.
Professional & personal development.
Are You Eligible?
Are You Eligible?
All programs are free to eligible participants.
To be eligible for the SQW Program you must be:
A Queensland resident;
Aged 15 years or older and no longer enrolled at school
Unemployed or under-employed for a minimum of 6 months
An Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident (including a humanitarian entrant), a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.
