This policy describes what data Sanaputous ("the app", "we", "us") collects and how it is used. Sanaputous is a daily Finnish word-puzzle game, played entirely offline except for the features described below.
Advertising identifier. Sanaputous shows optional rewarded video ads (watch an ad to get extra time or extra moves) via Google AdMob. AdMob uses the Android Advertising ID to select and measure ads. You can reset or limit this identifier at any time in your device's settings under Privacy, Ads.
Analytics data. The app uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand how the game is played in aggregate, such as how many words are found per game, whether cascades or combos are used, which achievements are unlocked, whether boosts are used, and which screens are opened. These events do not include your name, email, or other directly identifying information; they are tied to an anonymous, resettable identifier assigned by Google's SDKs.
Information we do not collect. Sanaputous has no account system, no sign-in, and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, camera, microphone, or file storage access. There is no chat or shared content with other players beyond the score and date embedded in a challenge link you choose to share yourself.
Locally stored data. Your game history, streak, lifetime stats, achievement progress, and preferences such as theme and sound are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
We use this information to serve and measure rewarded video ads through Google AdMob, to understand feature usage and improve game design through Firebase Analytics in aggregate, and to detect whether a promoted game from the same developer is already installed on your device so the app can show Open instead of Install. No data about your other installed apps is transmitted anywhere for this purpose.
The Challenge a Friend feature lets you share a link containing that day's date and your score through your own device's share sheet, such as SMS or a messaging app of your choice. We do not see who you send it to or store your friend's information; the recipient's device reads the date and score directly from the link you sent.
Sanaputous uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own provider's privacy policy: Google AdMob for rewarded ads, Google Firebase Analytics, Google's User Messaging Platform for consent management, and the Google Play Install Referrer API, used only to detect a challenge link carried through a Play Store install. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. These providers may process data outside your country of residence in accordance with their own published safeguards.
Users in the EEA and UK are shown a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform before any personalized ad is requested, letting you choose whether ads are personalized. You can reset your device's advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device's system settings. You can reset in-app progress such as streak and stats through the app's Settings screen, which only affects data stored locally on your device.
Sanaputous is not directed at children and is not designed to appeal primarily to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Locally stored game data persists on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Analytics and advertising data are retained by Google according to Google's own retention policies for Firebase Analytics and AdMob.
We may update this policy as the app changes, for example when new features or SDKs are added. The effective date above will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
