I will be presenting 2 papers below at Conference Childhood, Education, & Society in June, held at  Istanbul Kültür University , Turkey. 

1. Professional Identity of Early Childhood Educators during Universal Pre-K Policy Implementation: Case Studies on New York City and Tokyo. 

2. An Examination of (a Lack of) Diversity in Early Childhood Education Literacy.

I am extremely excited to visit Turkey for the first time in my life (especailly because one of my academic supervisors is from Turkey and I am visiting his home country!). I am also looking forward to meeting scholars in research fields related to childhood, education, and society.

Academic Year 2024

It's been a while since my last post, and it is already mid April. Time really flies. 

Happy new academic year!

In 1Q, I am teaching:

• Visionary Project 41

• TOEFL prep seminar 5 RW

• Oral Expression in English 13.

Visionary Project is a required course for all incoming first year students, and Class 41 is for GSEP students who pursue their BA in English. I am looking forward to working with the GSEP students and faculty members again this year!

For my TOEFL prep seminar classes, I started using ETS Criterion (academic writing program) in December last year. Criterion is a writing program in which AI proofreads writing and provides users with a score (out of 6 points) and suggestions for improvement. I hope my students to learn academic writing better through this program and come to like writing in English!
