Career Summary:
Currently, I am working as a researcher at the Austrian Blockchain Center in Vienna, Austria. I hold Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Software Engineering from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Pakistan. From 2019 to 2022, I served as a research assistant at the ComSens Lab at CUI, gaining valuable experience in advanced research methodologies.
My research focuses on decentralized and distributed systems, machine learning, deep learning, federated learning, privacy, and security. For my MS thesis, I developed a blockchain- and deep learning-based intrusion detection system for the Internet of Things. Additionally, I have worked on machine learning and deep learning techniques for node classification and data analysis. My research contributions include authoring two journal articles and five conference papers.
As part of my current role, I have worked on several projects:
Youth Agency Marketplace (YOMA) UNICEF Project: Developed and implemented a frontend and backend tokenization system using the Polygon blockchain platform, enhancing transaction efficiency and security (article submitted).
COMMIT IoT Project: Conducted in-depth analysis of blockchain connection patterns, identifying key trends for network optimization (published article).
European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) Project: Performed comprehensive system testing to ensure robust functionality and user experience, onboarded new users, and gathered feedback to enhance platform usability.
Bitfly GmbH FFG Project: Analyzed features and security tools in various blockchain explorers, evaluating their implementation and effectiveness.
Research Proposal Contribution: Contributed to designing an AI-powered, model-driven recommendation system for adopting and deploying blockchain technologies in supply chain processes.
