On behalf of LCDR Young and OSCS(AW/SW) Munoz, we'd like to thank all the parents and cadets for actively improving the unit year after year.
This website will allow cadets and their parents to get involved with the unit and see exactly what we are doing at any given time.
To the Parents and Future Cadets,
Every year I get excited to see the new talent and awesome students coming together to form a family bond in this program. They help each other with numerous social development and classroom skills to produce the foundation they need to become great leaders in our community. This program is about creating those lasting friendships and improving the students to become noteworthy citizens in the community. Our goal is not to force them into the military but to enhance their abilities and create skills that the students can use in their future job endeavors so that they can lead companies into a better future. We strive to make the students successful so they can face and conquer all their life obstacles.

The Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) program was established by Public Law in 1964 which may be found in Title 10, U.S. Code, Chapter 102. The program is conducted at accredited secondary schools throughout the nation, and taught by instructors who are retired Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard officers and enlisted personnel. The NJROTC accredited curriculum emphasizes citizenship and leadership development, as well as our maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation, and meteorology. Classroom instruction is augmented throughout the year by co-curricular activities of community service, academic, athletic, drill and orienteering competitions, field meets, flights, visits to military activities, marksmanship sports training, and physical fitness training.
The San Elizario High School NJROTC was established in 2001. Since that first year, the San Elizario NJROTC has been involved in many community events ensuring that our cadets show the community that we care about the city of San Elizario. Our cadets participate in community service, leadership development, and numerous team activities to include: Armed Regulation Drill, Unarmed Regulation Drill, Armed Exhibition Drill, Unarmed Exhibition Drill, Color Guard, Air Rifle, Orienteering, Academic, Physical Fitness, Cyber Patriot, Honor Guard, Raider Team, and Orienteering. The unit regularly provides nearly 3000 hours of School Service and 3000 hours of Community Service each school year.

To the Cadets of 2022-2023,
I am so proud to be a part of this year's unit. Already you have shown resilience in attending school and volunteering when you can. Even with the COVID-19 issues that we have to deal with, you have shown the community what it means to be a GREAT citizen. It is through your unselfish assistance and your willingness to go the extra mile that proves to the Community, the Teachers and Staff of San Elizario High School, that you have pride in the community, the school, and this unit. I carry a special place in my heart for all my cadets and I hope that you see how much everyone appreciates your hard work.
