Education encourages, empowers, and enhances the budding future of a nation. It is our responsibility that we discuss the new education reform that has the potential to revolutionize education in this country. We were joined by 25 inquisitive participants to discuss all the various facets of the policy and their implications. We dealt with questions such as:
Does this policy have the ability to do away with decades of the societal stigma associated with unconventional career choices and dropping out?
Is the impetus on regional languages well placed or could those resources be utilized elsewhere?
How feasible is it to implement such a long term policy?
The crucial observations made by the participants led to a high-quality constructive discussion.

For this session we had a unique way to go about the discussion. To promote more participation in the discussion we decided to implement an innovative format. Each participant had to choose one topic from the following:
Trade and commerce
Work culture
Tourism and international travel
Globalization
Family and social relations
Future Pandemic preparation
Change in education sector
Health Sector reforms
The participants had to present a proposal for major changes in that sector in the near future and a way to keep up with them. The audience would vote on the proposal, following which the speaker would explain the reasons and analysis behind the proposal. This was followed by a second vote. Thus the speaker had to use their presentation as well as research skills to convince the audience and pass their proposal.

In light of the travel restrictions placed due to the pandemic, we decided to conduct an online discussion on the response of countries to Covid-19. The participants were allotted countries, and had to speak for five minutes for their country’s response to the pandemic. A total of 25 countries were allotted to students.
The discussion also saw great deal of research and enthusiasm within regular news readers from our WhatsApp group.
Keeping with the spirit of MUN we also declared two winners. One for the most well researched through their speech and other for the one who presented themselves best through their diction, consistency and adherence to their country’s stance.
The countries and organizations assigned to the participants were: USA, Iran, India, Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, WHO.

A very lively discussion regarding the Bodo tribe of North East India that evolved into a discussion for information transfer in scheduled tribes. 18 people took the time to come together and have an open minded discussion on very pertinent problems being faced by the country.
Many of the participants had done their research beforehand and quashed any space for vague statements and misinformation among our group. The eagerness of the participants to share their opinions would have stretched the discussion to several hours but the time constraint imposed forced the participants to communicate their views with brevity. The biggest takeaway for everyone in this discussion was that listening to what another person had to say with an open mind and processing it was far more important than finding what the next thing to say was.
