I am a Computer Science engineer from Italy with a doctoral degree in cognitive robotics. My academic interests are artificial intelligence applications for cognition in autonomous humanoid robots and my field of expertise is human-robot interaction (HRI), in particular regarding emotional intelligence, trust and intention reading in shared goal scenarios. I possess higher education teaching experience and qualifications.

I have recently authored a book titled "In Robots We Trust", published by Oxford University Press.
It is a popular science book rather than an academic textbook, focusing on trust relationships between humans and robots. Written in clear, jargon-free language, it introduces the general public to key ideas in my research. The book explains both how humans come to trust or distrust robots and how robots can form trust judgments about people.
