Researcher in Economics, Triangle UMR 5206, Lyon (France)
Visiting scholar at the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University (Durham NC, United States) during the academic year 2021-2022
Fields of research: Monetary Theory, History of Economics, 100% money, bank money creation
My research focuses on studying the limits of money creation by banks, and the case for transferring all power of money issuance to the state. The idea of separating the issuing from the lending of money shows a long track record in the history of thought, from the 18th century to the present, and is still a topical issue. I am currently working on furnishing an overall treatment of this question in the history of economics.
