Perhaps it is already set to never sleep via optimized apps setting? If you want to see it under never sleep, perhaps try adding the app to optimized apps list first. (Apps > Special Access > Optimize battery usage > all > check app) Then it should appear in the list that allows you to add to never sleep list? But either way it achieves intended effect to let it run in background without killing app i guess. This was the case for me.

So I assume Samsung should allow to display all the apps at allow app to work in background and disable app from sleep features at the same time. Then user can select , not when enable one disappear from other.

Hi yes there is a solution. I just worked it out, i went to apps on my galaxy s23 ultra and chose the app (AVG) and clicked on battery then changed to optimised then went back to accessibility and never sleeping app clicked plus sign and avg was there this time and i added it

So I set my sleep routine to restrict most of my apps through Modes and Routines. When it turned off this morning, my apps are still restricted. I have restarted my phone several times, powered it off and on, did a soft reboot, turned my apps off a sleep mode, reset app preferences and these are all suggestions from Samsung support via online chat and by phone. Nothing has helped. When I click on an app that is restricted it says Cannot use app name while Restrict app usage in use. Nothing I do seems to help, nothing from support so far has seemed to help and the support team is using a remote tutor to test things out.

I had basically the exact same issue and going into the apps menu in settings, finding the "Modes and Routines" application, scrolling to the storage button within the 'Usage' section, pressing the button, and pressing the clear data button fixed the issue for me.

I have exactly the same issue as the poster (Galaxy S22) and I swear I've tried everything. I tried your solution, but when I find the "Modes and Routines" app in the list of apps, there is no option for me to navigate to "usage" and then to the storage button to be able to clear it. Am I missing something? I restricted access to almost everything as part of my sleep mode because I'm so bad at mindlessly scrolling for ages and it was becoming a real problem, so right now I have access to like 5 apps and my phone is basically just a brick *facepalm*

Never mind, I've managed to fix it now! Ended up having to just search for the app rather than go through the apps menu, then a long press brought up the option to take me to app settings, and then I was able to get into the storage and memory menus from there.

Omg Samsung. What a flawed app. I've only been using it for about 4 or 5 days and even before this issue, half the time it wouldn't auto turn on when I'd programmed it to, or off when I'd programmed it to, or it'd turn off restricted apps but the screen would stay in grayscale even though it was all meant to work on the same schedule.

Hi guys, so I have had the very same issue this morning. The Samsung A52 went into sleep routine but this morning didn't wake up. After even deleting the sleep mode, it still did not work. I cleared cache as suggested above - and it activated some apps, including Google Play. Modes & Routines wanted to run an update, but because Google Play was in the restricted list, I couldn't update it. A suggestion from my side is to NOT put Google Play in the restricted app list because then you can easily update modes & routines and then the problem should be sorted. As soon as I ran the update, my phone was back to normal.

For the last few weeks, most apps haven't been working when my Fold4 has been connected to my home WiFi network. If I disconnect and go back to mobile data, the apps work fine. No other devices in my house are having this issue including multiple laptops, gaming consoles, tablets, my smart TV, and others. The weird thing is that some apps *do* work on wifi including my phone's web browser and Snapchat. But apps like Signal, most games that require a connection, my banking apps, and others just don't work at all and will give me errors about no connection being available.

I'm trying to restore everything from one samsung a41 to another a41 whose screen died. When I do a restore from the samsung cloud, all it does is download the apps I had installed and add email accounts (without passwords). It doesn't doesn't restore any of the settings for the apps. It's just installed a fresh copy of the apps. So now I have to re-arrange all my apps (because it's just dumped them one after the other and not in folders like I had them) and then manually go to 100+ apps and sign into all of them with different passwords and also re-set up authenticator apps (don't even know if this is possible), banking apps etc. etc.

I can't turn on my old phone, but if I could change the screen (which costs more than the used phone I just bought), could I do anything differently via samsung or google cloud (or some other way) that will actually restore all my settings as well?

Not only am I experiencing your problem, but my phone is now glitchy, immediately closes apps and notifications randomly when i touch to open them, sometimes opens the keyboard when I click something to type, will close the keyboard randomly as i type, is much slower than before, even freezing up for the first times ever in the 3 years I've had it. The apps that were reinstalled from the backup are all basically 3rd party apps now, even though they were downloaded originally from Google Play store. In their settings they say the source is Samsung cloud backup instead of Google Play store and I cannot look at the app info like you normally could. They are also installed permanently with no way to uninstall them. When I use apps like Ghost Commander to look at other factors of the apps, they have dates from December 31, 1969, and their icons are sometimes just little Android bot heads. I am also noticing that the functionality of the launcher app I use, Apex launcher, doing oddball things like removing apps from my app drawer, moving or removing apps from the home screen, and much more.

I found this post because I am looking for a way to uninstall some apps that I should be able to uninstall, and I saw you had the same app data problem. After about 4weeks of trying to find a way to restore the app data, I am finally accepting that I am just gonna have to let it go. As a consolation prize I have screen shots of my page layouts and where my apps were situated, and I found at least some of my synced Samsung browser tabs and pages which held many months worth of legal research, so not all is lost. This is such a disaster, and to be ready to not let it happen again is almost moot, as this will not likely happen again, and everything important I was working on is not a recurring event. Sooooo, I'm screwed yet again by an act of God. It's gonna be hard to invest much serious effort into trusting my devices to protect what I create. Thanks Samsung. Now may I kindly uninstall these apps that are no longer needed, which came from your cloud, and were installed into my device by you, and are infecting my whole network with something evil? My windows 10 won't even turn on now... I digress ...

It doesn't happen when I change the apps fast, but it takes as little as half a minute or so in other app to reload the previous app I've been using.

It happens with web browser, some apps and game like Pokmon Go, where I check if the RAM is full and it's always have at least 1gb free.

Pokmon Go is not important, most important is when e.g. I want to make a transaction in the browser and check my card details in my bank app. I have to do it fast, coz it happened to me multiple times that the browser app reloaded and I had to run thru the buying process again (when I was on the payment site and refreshing session reverts the form).

Its very annoying and I've never had the same issue on a different phones.

Similar in my A51, although Google Maps has never reset like that. Wifi and mobile, all apps, quick toggle doesn't do it, but not than about 30 seconds, always ruins web form data. I just added a sample to Never Sleeps to see what that will do. As a temporary workaround, split-screen seems to prevent it.

This somehow goes away when I disable Bluetooth. But there are some workout apps that I use frequently (eg. Tonal) which keeps refreshing, I can't have my Bluetooth disabled when using these apps. I did a factory reset, did all latest software updates and had this issue for over 6 months now. It is unacceptable on a flag ship device. RAM, CPU, Disk usage everything is not even close to 40%.

I'm using Meraki MDM. Using Device Owner mode, all the bloatware is stripped out of the phones. However, on my newest test phones - the Note 8 - this also strips useful (and "non-installable") apps such as the Galaxy Apps Store and the Theme Chooser. I managed to get the apps store back by ripping it from a standard setup phone, but the theme manager isn't cooperating. It installs, but when I long press and go to wallpapers, it gives a toast message that the app isn't installed.

Thank you so much! This absolutely fixed the issue and allowed me access to all the system apps. Now what I'd like to do is start to whitelist the apps I want to allow, but the list I can choose from is very short (only 10 apps), and when I type a name into the box, I just get a black and white "thinking" circle in the right of the box forever. 0852c4b9a8
