So I just changed from a S6 to an S9 plus. I can't figure out how to get animated wallpapers to work on my home screen. I can get them to work on the lock screen but they only show a still frame snapshot on the homescreen. I've tried animated themes from Samsung and play store live wallpapers but no animation. Is this something the S9 does not do? I also found it crazy I had to download a third party app just to get my screen to rotate 180 degrees (I like my headphone jack at the top of my phone.)

How to go to settings: After installing app click on notification and run app. It shows list of installed live wallpapers. Select installed one. Preview will show up with three-dots menu with settings option. -> THIS IS RIGHT.

Let's try: Long tap on screen, Wallpaper, Show all, three-dot menu, live wallpapers - it shows similar dialog as in the previous try, but there is NO settings aviable and you can only select where to use selected live wallpaper (home screen or home screen + lock screen).

Yes, I use live wallpapers and animated lock screens... Of course the battery will be used faster... Is quite a lot of processing power to do so, however if you're not constantly checking your lock screen, or just fiddling around on your home screen, the wallpaper itself isn't technically using battery

Forget regular backgrounds. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab has live wallpapers, which are essentially backgrounds for your homescreen, but with a lively feel. It reacts to you. But if you want to change it, you can, and this is how you do on the Android OS. Press MENU < WALLPAPER < LIVE WALLPAPER and then browse and select the one you want. The click SET WALLPAPER to save it.

I recently noticed that my live wallpaper apps are crashing when users try to set the newly introduced "Theming Icons" functionality on Android 12. This new functionality calculates a palette of colors from the user's current static wallpaper and uses this palette to color some of the other apps icons (a feature of the new "Material You" design). But for some reason when it operates on a live wallpaper it crashes the app with the following log:

For a while I was looking for a similar problem in reviews of popular live wallpapers. I found similar reviews only for one application. I updated my phone today. All my live wallpapers stopped working as expected. Then I installed "Earth & Moon" and this app works fine. It means that we are doing something wrong or, on the contrary, we are not doing something :) In the near future I will begin to investigate this problem.

To set videos as live wallpapers on an Android device, you'll need to install a third-party app like Video to Wallpaper. The app is quite simple to use, and I'm sure most of you will be able to figure out the process by yourself. But if you face any issues, here's a quick overview of how you can use it to set any video as a live wallpaper on your phone:

The live wallpaper should now appear on your homescreen and/or lockscreen based on your selection. You can follow the same steps to change the live wallpaper whenever you please. All the live wallpapers you pick in step 4 will appear on the app's homescreen for easy access, so you'll be able to switch between them without following steps 2 and 3 every time.

Video to Wallpaper is one of the simplest apps you can use to set videos as live wallpapers on your Android phone. I picked it over the other apps mentioned below for one simple reason: It's ad-free. If you're looking for an app that offers more controls and customization options or is easier to use, you should check out the alternatives mentioned below.

Sadly, this feature won't let you set a video as a live wallpaper on the homescreen. You'll still have to rely on a third-party app for that purpose. Thankfully, there are quite a few options out there. We've already talked about the Video to Wallpaper app. Now let's take a look at four other apps that you can use for this purpose.

For those who need some additional customization options, the Video Live Wallpaper app is another great alternative. The app not only lets you set any video as a live wallpaper on your homescreen or lock screen, but it also gives you a couple of additional settings to trim the video, enable/disable audio, and scale the video to fit the screen.

The Wallpapers free app offers a vast selection of live and static wallpapers across various categories. On top of that, it lets you set your own videos as live wallpapers. However, the process isn't exactly straightforward. To set your own videos as live wallpapers, tap on the hamburger menu button in the top left corner of the app's homescreen. Select the Photos and videos on your device option in the menu, tap on Accept on the following page, and then pick a video from your phone's internal storage.

Once again, the app's video browser isn't great, so looking for the video you want to set as a live wallpaper might be a bit difficult. The app also has large banner ads and the occasional pop-up ad, which may turn away many users. On the upside, the app offers a bunch of additional live and static wallpapers. It even includes an auto-change wallpaper feature with which you can set up a couple of static wallpapers to cycle on your homescreen automatically.

The Video Wallpaper app is another simple alternative that lets you set any video as a live wallpaper with just a couple of taps. The app's homescreen shows a list of videos from your internal storage that you can use as live wallpaper. Sadly, tapping on any video brings up a full-screen ad. After you remove the ad, the app gives you a couple of customization options that let you turn on audio on the live wallpaper, scale to fit the screen, and double-tap to start/pause the live wallpaper.

To set a live wallpaper, tap on the 'Set as launcher wallpaper' button, check the preview, and tap on 'Set wallpaper.' The app lets you set videos as live wallpapers on just the homescreen or the homescreen and lock screen both. Out of all the apps mentioned on this list, the Video Wallpaper app was the most annoying to use because of the sheer number of ads.

The app has a lot of customizable live wallpapers, all of them being shiny and glittery. The wallpapers definitely fit the Samsung S8 devices as it has dual edges or the infinity display which suits very well with such glittery wallpapers.

In the realm of smartphone personalization, live wallpapers have emerged as a popular choice for users seeking a dynamic and interactive backdrop. These animated visuals, which respond to touch or movement, offer a unique way to customize a device. But which phones support this feature? Let's delve into the world of live wallpapers and discover the devices that bring them to life.

Live wallpapers offer a dynamic twist to the smartphone personalization game. Whether it's the gentle sway of underwater plants, the mesmerizing dance of flames, or the serene flow of a waterfall, these wallpapers turn every glance at your phone into a visual treat. So, if you're keen on adding a touch of life to your device's screen, check if your phone supports this feature and dive into the vibrant world of live wallpapers! 17dc91bb1f
