If you want deep bass, active noise cancellation, and premium audio fidelity for your runs, choose SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3; if you need all-day battery life, situational awareness for safety while jogging, and a secure fit that doesn't block your ear canal, choose eDepot Open Ear Clip-on.
• SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3: Delivers immersive Hi-Fi sound with active noise cancellation but has a shorter total playtime and requires specific Android features for full functionality.
• eDepot Open Ear Clip-on: Offers 40 hours of total battery life and keeps your ears open for ambient sounds, though it lacks active noise cancellation and relies on passive isolation.
• Best for the audiophile jogger who wants to block out city noise and hear every detail in their playlist: SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3.
• Best for the safety-conscious runner or glasses wearer who prioritizes long battery life and comfort over heavy bass: eDepot Open Ear Clip-on.
The SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3 is engineered for those who treat their workout music as an essential part of their training regimen. These earbuds are designed to sit securely inside the ear canal, creating a seal that not only improves bass response but also enables Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This feature is a game-changer for runners tackling busy streets or noisy gym environments, as it actively suppresses background hums and traffic noise, allowing you to focus entirely on your rhythm. The inclusion of SSC HiFi and UHQ audio codecs means you are getting a level of audio fidelity that approaches studio quality, with a frequency range spanning from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. If you are looking for headphones that can deliver a rich, detailed soundscape where every instrument is distinct, these are built for you.
Durability is another key factor for anyone sweating through intense cardio sessions. With an IP57 rating, the Galaxy Buds3 are protected against both water and dust, making them robust enough to handle heavy rain or high-intensity perspiration without issue. The design places the microphones closer to your lips, which, combined with Super Wideband technology, ensures that your voice comes through clearly during calls even when you are out of breath. However, this performance comes with a caveat regarding compatibility. While they work with iOS devices, the advanced AI features like real-time language translation and optimized audio codecs are exclusively available to users with Samsung Galaxy Android devices running version 8.0 or later. If you are an iPhone user, you will miss out on the software enhancements that make these earbuds truly shine.

Battery life is respectable but not class-leading. You can expect around seven hours of continuous playback on a single charge, extending to eight hours if you turn off ANC, with the case providing up to twelve hours of additional power. This might be sufficient for most daily commutes or standard workouts, but it falls short compared to some competitors if you are planning ultra-long endurance events without access to a charger. The charging case itself is redesigned for portability, featuring a vertical orientation and a transparent lid, which makes it easy to check your remaining charge at a glance. Ultimately, the Galaxy Buds3 are ideal for the user who values audio quality and noise isolation above all else and is willing to trade off some battery longevity and universal compatibility to get there.
For runners who prioritize safety and situational awareness, the eDepot Open Ear Clip-on offers a fundamentally different approach to listening. Instead of sealing the ear canal, these buds clip onto the outer ear, leaving the opening completely unobstructed. This design allows ambient noise—like approaching cars, cyclists, or park announcements—to pass through naturally, which is critical for outdoor exercise. The lack of a seal means you cannot rely on them for deep bass or isolation, but it does eliminate the "plugged ear" feeling that many find uncomfortable during long runs. They are specifically tailored for people with smaller ears or those who wear glasses, as the soft silicone brackets contour snugly without interfering with temple arms. If you have ever struggled with traditional earbuds pushing against your eyewear or causing pain after an hour, these provide a "barely-there" comfort that lasts all day.
The standout feature here is undoubtedly the battery endurance. With a single charge delivering eight hours of playtime and the included case extending the total listening time to forty hours, these earbuds can easily last through multiple weeks of regular jogging without needing a recharge. This is a massive advantage for travelers or those who simply forget to charge their gear overnight. The eDepot buds also boast Bluetooth 6.0, ensuring a stable connection and fast pairing with both iOS and Android devices. Unlike the Samsung option, which locks certain features behind a specific brand ecosystem, the eDepot buds offer multipoint connectivity right out of the box, letting you switch seamlessly between your phone and tablet without re-pairing. This versatility makes them an excellent choice for multi-device users who want a hassle-free experience across platforms.
Audio performance is balanced rather than explosive. The 10mm dynamic drivers provide clear, crisp sound suitable for podcasts, audiobooks, and general music streaming. You can toggle between three modes—Spatial, Music, and low-latency Game Mode—using a dedicated physical button, which adds a layer of customization often missing in budget-friendly options. The IPX5 waterproof rating protects against sweat and light rain, making them durable enough for intense workouts. However, because they do not block the ear, they do not offer active noise cancellation; any noise reduction is purely passive due to the physical fit. If you are someone who needs to stay alert to their surroundings or prefers to listen to the world while moving, the eDepot Open Ear Clip-on is the superior choice, offering freedom and endurance over raw acoustic power.

After weighing the specs and use cases, I would buy the eDepot Open Ear Clip-on for my personal jogging routine. While the SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3 are technically superior in terms of sound isolation and audio depth, the primary reason I run outdoors is to enjoy the environment safely. The open-ear design of the eDepot buds eliminates the risk of missing a car horn or a shout, and the 40-hour battery life means I never worry about the device dying mid-run. For a jogger who needs reliability, comfort with glasses, and the ability to hear the world around them, the eDepot solution is the more practical and safer choice. If you are strictly indoors or need maximum noise blocking, the Samsung option wins, but for the average runner, the eDepot Open Ear Clip-on is the better companion.
The SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3 are significantly better for deep bass because their in-ear design creates a seal that traps low frequencies. The eDepot Open Ear Clip-on provides clear audio but lacks the physical seal required for heavy bass impact.
The eDepot Open Ear Clip-on inherently offers the best transparency since they do not block the ear canal, allowing you to hear traffic and surroundings naturally without switching modes.
Neither product uses memory foam cushions; the SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3 use rounded tips for an in-ear fit, while the eDepot buds use soft silicone brackets for an on-ear clip fit. Both aim for a secure, comfortable hold during movement.
Yes, both products connect via Bluetooth to iOS and Android. However, the SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds3 will only unlock their full AI and codec features if paired with a Samsung Galaxy Android device, whereas the eDepot buds function fully on both platforms.
