Following poor user reactions to CS2 deathmatch, I explored other successful deathmatch titles such as Doom, Halo and Quake to find ways of improving the mode within Counter Strike. This project was also used to advance my skillset as a level designer by using the Counter Strike level editor Hammer for the first time.
In an attempt to reach into an often community-driven form of gameplay, I looked at a mixture of parkour and racing games such as Fall Guys, Mirror's Edge and Forza.
This project looked into different methods in which players can be motivated into playing titles through both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors.
A number of highlighted elements specifically for both social and competitive players were then implememented into a prototype.
