Sam Rhodes Journalism

Hi, I am Sam. I'm a freelance multimedia journalist with a specialism in broadcast and audio storytelling. 

I currently freelance as a reporter for Radio Manchester, Greatest Hits/Hits Radio and as a Journalism Coordinator for Radio Manchester Sport. 

I have previously worked as an assistant producer for Daily Mail podcasts, a runner for the BBC and as a podcast editor for My Wardrobe Malfunctions. 

I completed my MA in Broadcast Journalism, gaining a Distinction at the University of Salford. I bring a strong foundation in both traditional and digital reporting, with a Gold NCTJ qualification and a 120 wpm shorthand speed, as well as an A in Public Affairs, Media Law, Radio News and PR and Comms. 

My experience spans both local and national newsrooms, including placements with the BBC, Greatest Hits and Hits Radio, The Telegraph, ITV, and the Daily Mail, where I’ve contributed to a range of projects, from creating stories and radio production to podcast editing and research. 

Alongside these placements, I have produced my own content for radio and TV at Quays News and created my own podcast, Reel Roulette.
