Road Map

The project has these major deliverables, which are due on the dates shown. Between the major points of the project, the features that need to be added in order to achieve the next step in the development are shown.

  • Project begins - 9/1/18

Tasked to design an application to improve access to information for Hoboken rec sports programs.

    • Look at other existing rec sports websites for content ideas
    • Find out how rec basketball registrations are stored by Hoboken government
    • Gather all data needed for rec basketball app
    • Design backend that interfaces with Hoboken government servers
    • Design UI to display the data easily
    • Subscribe to specific streamline data to users
  • Initial Release of Rec Basketball App - 2/10/19

Limited release of app that only covers one sport. Will be tested by people who are enrolled in the rec basketball program and their parents.

    • Use structure of basketball app to implement other sports programs into the app
    • Create capability for users to subscribe to teams and sports
    • Calendar for showing practice and game times
    • Add features for league standings & Index of locations
    • Project will be limited in scope in initial release but will be continuously updated
  • Prototype of Full Sports App - 2/25/19

Similar to basketball app but should increase in scope to cover all sports programs

    • Host app on both Google Play Store and the IOS App Store
    • Allow users to download and use app
    • Collect feedback on app
    • Implement fixes to app in response to feedback in incremental releases
  • Final App - 3/25/19

Any feedback from stakeholders will be taken into consideration and the final app will reflect that feedback, final production version

    • Perform feasibility analysis to determine whether to host server on Hoboken's servers/cloud hosting provider
    • Resolve any issues that arise with the move
    • Streamline backend calls by using internal server routines
  • Integration into Hoboken Servers - 4/17/19
    • Formalize documentation for the app to hand over to Hoboken government's IT staff
