Dearest Samhita,
As you begin preparations to enter the sacred stage today, to humbly offer your Nritya Seva to The Parabrahmam, I stand with you with folded palm, to invoke the blessings of Lord Nataraja, and Anantha Koti Brahmanda Nayaka, Rajadhiraja, Samastha Sadguru SaiBaba, to grant you the blessings, and fill you with Energy, Memory, and Devotion to fulfill your Arangetram today to the best of your knowledge. You have worked hard, whenever you have been with me, and gained the foresight to practice on your own too.
As a student of mine, I am pleased with your devotion, and faith you have placed in me. I offer that at Baba’s feet. We both embarked on this journey when you were barely six and your Mom sought me out as your dance teacher. Many years passed and you continued to learn the different steps, adavus, hand and feet positions, understanding the directions, use of space, alternated movements of the body, and the use of storytelling tools, like mudras, and bhavas, unique to this form of the sacred arts. I must admit though, that we really bonded only in the past two to three weeks of your training. It has been a wonderful experience to see your eyes light up with awareness of the different methods of responding to music with your body, and movements, and responding to the stories in your Varnam, and Padams. Thank you for sticking with it, and not giving up. With this knowledge you will go far.
I know you are going to put your heart, and soul into bringing out whatever you have gained in your understanding of this gifted art form that you have been training for. With my Guru's blessings, I wish you all the very best. We are all looking forward to your unique interpretation of the repertoire that been given to you with much love. “Dance like no one is watching “they say. The stage is yours, enjoy your time on it. You are going to be absolutely free, happy, and amazing.
Pramila, Suresh, and Pranav, thank you for helping Samhita get to this stage in her life. She has been really blessed with the very best. Now sit back, and enjoy her performance, for she is going to surprise you.
Radhe Krishna!
With love and blessings from Vidya, Anjali, and Anandini, the entire HTR family, and
Your’s truly
In service to the Arts,
Sudha Aunty
