About You

I am from Nagpur, Maharashtra. I completed my 12th standard from Hislop College, Nagpur(MH). I did my B.E. in Civil Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani - Pilani Campus and currently pursuing my PhD in Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (2022 onwards).

PhD Thesis Topic

Development of Probabilistic Bonded Block Model Framework to Study Micro/Macro Mechanical Behaviour and Damage Processes in Rocks and Rock Structures

with Dr. Gaurav Tiwari(IIT Kanpur) and Dr. Bharadwaj Pandit(IIT BHU)

Overview of my work

Rock is an inherently random material whose variability should be captured in any related analysis. This research aims towards this negligence of uncertainties while employing the BBM for different rock mechanics problems. This negligence of uncertainties in rock properties exists for both types of problems – i) calibration of micromechanical properties of mineral grains and contacts where the stochastic nature of mechanical properties observed during laboratory testing is completely neglected and ii) analysis of coal pillars/deep excavations along rocks where stochastic nature of inputs (aleatory and epistemic) are completely neglected.
