Hi, I am Sameep!
Welcome to My Personal Webpage
I am Sameep Chattopadhyay, a first-year grad student at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington, advised by Prof. Mari Ostendorf.
I have recently graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay with a B.Tech. + M.Tech. Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in AI and Data Science.
During my time at IIT Bombay, I have been an undergraduate researcher at the Computational Speech and Language Technology (CSALT) Group under Prof. Preethi Jyothi and a member of the Stochastic Systems Lab (SSL), collaborating with Prof. Sharayu Moharir.
My research primarily focuses on machine learning for speech and multimodal applications. In the summer of 2024, I interned at the University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Prof. Sandeep Chinchali. Supported by a fellowship from the Department of ECE, I worked on improving time-series forecasting with multimodal contextual information.
In addition to my research roles at IIT Bombay, I have also been actively involved with the Student Mentorship Program (SMP) as the Academic Cabinet Head (2024-25), leading the Academic Rehabilitation Program at IIT Bombay with 80 + mentors.
