My personal leadership style includes my characteristics as a black hat thinker and an ENTP. This means that I am able to easily see the flaws in plans and I am a conversationalist. I believe that I am a leader that can understand people's strengths and weaknesses and clearly communicate what my team can and cannot accomplish. Additionally, I am good at understanding the weaknesses of projects and people so as to fix these issues before they get out of hand.
I uploaded my paper on a particular issue I wanted to change in my life and how I would go about changing it. I chose this paper because this is a great example of an issue that I deal with very regularly in Quest Tech and Startup Shell, two clubs where I hold a leadership position. Encouraging good morale and excitement around participation is an ongoing issue for most clubs. This paper helped me to demonstrate the leadership tactics that I learned in PL. I was able to articulate how leading by example and listening to the member of the club would help me facilitate engagement. It is extremely important to listen to the needs and wants of the members of your club in order to create a fun and welcoming environment.
I have used the leadership skills learned in PL in my day-to-day life in my job as a tutor. I tutor High School and Middle School students where I organize learning plans and run one on one sessions. Throughout this experience, I have utilized my leadership skills by honing the way I conduct sessions to each of the student's needs. Additionally, I make sure that my material is prepared beforehand so that they only hear confident and clear information about what I am teaching. I learned these skills throughout PL and they have helped me immensely.
