Salt and Light’s Hope Market was founded in response to the growing need within our community, guided by the belief that no one should go without food. We believe that hunger and food insecurity are not part of God’s plan for His people. As Scripture reminds us, “They will neither hunger nor thirst” (Isaiah 49:10).
We currently host weekly food distributions at Salt and Light Community Church in Montague, New Jersey, providing meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, desserts, and other essential food items. We serve individuals and families throughout the tri-county area, with no requirements or qualifications to receive food. All are welcome. Our vision is rooted in dignity, generosity, and love. Looking ahead, we prayerfully plan to open a storefront-style Hope Market, where families can come once a week to shop freely and receive everything they need in a welcoming environment. Through this ministry, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus—sharing not only food, but hope.
