Dream Pinball 3D is a pinball simulation game developed by TopWare and published by SouthPeak Games for Microsoft Windows, first released online in 2006, and then ported to Wii and Nintendo DS in 2008. Dream Pinball 3D features six tables to play on, each with a distinct theme, including a medieval table, an aquatic table, a monsters (zombies and vampires mostly) table, and a dinosaurs table. Apart from the different visual styles, each of these tables pose a different challenge because of their varying flipper, ramp, and bumper positions.[1]

As in the majority of pinball simulation video games - the objective is to gain as many points as possible by hitting the correct bumpers and obstacles. Bonuses included - point multipliers and extra lives - they are gained by hitting particularly hard shots. The games also features six different pinball materials - such as gold and steel - which affects the ball's physics.

I am not an engineer, or an electrician, or a carpenter, or a plumber or even a handyman. I only have the most rudimentary knowledge of tools. All I have is a very active imagination and a lot of willpower. The concept of Steam Dream came to me late one night about 2 years ago. I have loved playing pinball since I was very young. My first true love came when I was 16 and the arcade near me had a Black Knight. It was 1980. The colours and sound drew me in like nothing before. The game was heralded as a huge innovator with its double decks and magna ball save button that was a magnetic feature that helped save your ball from draining either left or right. I played that game every time I was in my local arcade along with Donkey Kong, Asteroids and all the 80s classics.

Having not the slightest notion of how to build a conveyor belt, I looked to YouTube. There I saw some examples, but not what I specifically needed. Using some of the basic principles I saw on YouTube, I started to design the conveyor belt that was specialized to my needs. It needed to be quite small as the playfield on a pinball machine does not allow for add-ons. So basically, my prototype for the conveyor belt was quite crude but got the ball rolling. How was I going to turn this on? A switch perhaps? No, wait! Three switches that would control other components I would add to the machine. If you look at the pictures attached, you will see a bank of three switches. The middle one controls the conveyor belts.

In the windows version the player can compare his performance with other players in the online high score list.

SouthPeak Games and developer TopWare Interactive are hoping to make your pinball dreams come true next month with the release of Dream Pinball 3D on the PC, the Wii, and the DS. We recently had an opportunity to check out work-in-progress versions of the Wii and DS games, which we'd still be playing if they'd been left at the office after our meeting. That's because pinball games, provided neither their ball physics nor their table designs are broken, are generally a lot of fun. Dream Pinball 3D doesn't appear to suffer from either of the aforementioned problems and introduces an interesting feature or two to boot.

We did not skimp on the technology with this game as there are six different style balls, made of different materials, that not only look different, but whose ballistic characteristics will affect the very rolling behaviour of each one of them. Add to that incredible acoustics, state of the art particle technology, HDRI and multilayer 3D sound, realistic tilt function and motion blur effects, and you have the best pinball experience available on the PC that can even be enjoyed by laptops and less powerful non-gaming computers.

This pinball table is most noted for having several cards of NiGHTS into Dreams characters which the player can collect. A maximum of five cards can be collected, and depending on how many of the same cards the players have, it may result in points and rings. be457b7860
