MacKenzie Hughes is a photographer and photo educator based in Aledo, Texas, and serves as Account Manager with Imaging Spectrum for the Lab & Photo Specialty Channel. He brings deep expertise in both the technical and fine art dimensions of the medium. As the former General Manager of Fort Worth Camera and The Print Refinery, Hughes created and produced the Fort Worth Foto Fest (later Funkytown Focus), a multi-day festival of imaging and content creation events (2015–2025).
With a lifetime dedicated to travel, landscape, and environmental portraiture, Hughes has led photo expeditions and workshops across California, Texas, and Puerto Rico, guiding photographers in developing their vision and craft. He currently fosters the photographic community through Aledo Aperture, organizing events and educational opportunities throughout the greater DFW area, Texas, and beyond.
Hughes' approach to photography emphasizes technical excellence and authentic storytelling through the lens, while never forgetting the true enjoyment of image-making with a camera.
