Two Strategies for integrating educational technology to facilitate student learning:
Stations - Stations help students focus and have equal chances to use the variety of technology in a classroom. Each station is focused around a specific technology and lets the student rotate through a variety of stations throughout a lesson. One station may have presentation tools such as Smart board, while another may use handheld tablets as digital textbooks and enhance the lesson through mixed media usage. The stations are designed to breakdown tasks that might be overwhelming if attempted all at once and makes sure that each student gets the opportunity for a variety of experiences with technology. This enables a student to begin to understand what skills they are stronger in and which might need more enhancement as well.
Blended Learning - Blended learning uses technology to enhance learning by creating a hybrid environment that combines traditional classrooms with non-formal or online classes. Blended learning can increase engagement by combining multimedia and design programs into a student assignment to allow for more detailed and cooperative experiences. Students use technology to communication and collaborate on projects and assignments, while also building skills through the technology usage such as editing, desktop publishing, presentations and a myriad of other possibilities. Students are continuously stimulated and have unlimited access to a huge bounty of information.
