Built to a smaller and improved design over the American USS Nimitz, Mercury is a state-of-the-art supercarrier. Commissioned in 1995, with her latest upgrade completed in 2019, she is one of the most technologically advanced ships in the world. She carries F/A-18E Super Hornets, F-35 Lightning IIs, and EV-22 Ospreys.
A member of the USN's Wasp-class of amphibious assault ship, our first foray into LHDs has been a success. Atlantic, commissioned on May 30th 1997, has been a formidable asset to Salem and it's people. LHD-1 has the capacity for amphibious landings by Navy personnel, and has done so successfully in training many times. She carries F-35 Lightning IIs and EV-22 Ospreys.
The first of our next-generation destroyers, DDG-12 has been a joy for our navy and her crews since 2001.
In service since July 2001, Bavern is our second next-gen DDG. She has received special commendation for her excellent engineering crew.
Osterria is one of our newest destroyers. She has been ready for action since the fall of 2001.
The final of our DDGs, New Hesse has been in the fleet since 2002.
Built by the United States, the Perry-class frigates were exceptional multirole vessels. Naturally, we had to buy some. FFG-7 was the first of these, commissioned in February 1985. She has been a faithful asset to the Navy ever since.
Named after the famous American admiral, Halsey has been a reliable vessel since her commissioning in November of 1985. She is most notable for having served in TF2 consistently since it's creation in 2002.
FFG-9 carries on the legacy of the famed US general and president by being one of the Salem Navy's most reliable multirole ships. She was commissioned on 19th December 1985.
"Fighting Frank", as she is lovingly known, has been in Salemite service since January of 1986.
Commissioned into the Navy in 1986, Harry S. Truman is the final of our 5 Perry-class frigates. Her helicopter crew have recieved the Excellence award twice for their outstanding service and skill.
Training Vessel (Sail) number one, SNS Constellation, is the most famous and most important vessel in Salemite history. She was the place where the first Salem Constitution was signed, she was the first official Salemite Navy Ship. She undergoes bi-annual maintenance, but is open for tours most days when not in dry dock.
The first, and only, member of the Training Vessel (Cruiser) designation, the former HC-139 is a storied vessel, and personal favorite ship of President Chester W. Nimitz (1930-1950). She is the only ship to have carried the name of our nation. The 80-year old cruiser undergoes a bi-annual maintenance period in conjunction with Constellation. Although a commissioned Navy vessel, she is open for tours on weekends.
Formerly the American Knox-class frigate USS Joseph Hewes, SNS Arctic is our older training ship. She operates exclusively in Salemite waters.
Our second training ship is Pacific. She does training with foreign fleets as well as our own. Unlike Atlantic, she travels around the world.
