I was born in Delhi and moved to Australia at the age of 13, an experience that shaped my interest in religion, culture, identity and the Global South. Since then, I have lived, studied and worked across Sydney, Rome and Zurich, and these places continue to influence how I understand the world. As a grandchild of the Partition generation, I have a deep desire to contribute to peacebuilding, especially through inter-religious dialogue.
I am a public policy professional, peacebuilding researcher and community leader with over fourteen years of experience in the Australian Government. In May 2026, I graduated as Valedictorian of the Master's cohort at the American University of Rome with a Master’s in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (Summa Cum Laude, GPA 3.97), and was selected to deliver the commencement address on behalf of the graduating class. My thesis explored the continued relevance of Gandhian nonviolence in contemporary India through field research on grassroots social movements, including the influence of Hindu philosophy on nonviolent action and mobilisation. More broadly, my interests focus on dialogue, religion, social cohesion and the role of communities and institutions in building peaceful societies.
Professionally, I have spent over fourteen years working in Australian public policy and regulation, leading strategic initiatives, building new functions, mentoring staff and representing Australia internationally. My work has focused on complex public policy challenges, including climate change, natural hazards, geopolitical risk and institutional resilience. I have also worked internationally through a secondment to Switzerland's financial regulator, FINMA, in Zurich.
Alongside my professional career, I founded the Sydney Intercultural Youth Dialogue, a grassroots initiative that brought together young people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds to explore shared challenges through dialogue and reflection. The initiative ran for seven years and created opportunities for meaningful engagement between participants from Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Jewish and non-religious communities. I have also facilitated peacebuilding forums and contributed to social cohesion initiatives through the NSW Police Commissioner's Multicultural Advisory Council.
My interests include world literature, Hindustani poetry, history, religion, culture, and understanding people through conversation. My strengths lie in building connection quickly, creating community spaces, and delivering collaborative projects through strong leadership.
