Meet the Founder

Sakoya Russell is the founder of Sakoya's Regulatory Consulting, bringing a background in healthcare regulation, insurance claims, healthcare compliance, and regulatory research and writing. With a master ’s-level education focused on healthcare law and regulation, she is passionate about helping organizations better understand complex healthcare requirements and translate regulatory information into practical, accessible guidance.

Her professional experience includes healthcare claims analysis, durable medical equipment (DME) compliance, healthcare documentation, and research involving Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements. Through this experience, she has developed an understanding of the importance of regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and informed decision-making within the healthcare industry.

Sakoya established Sakoya's Regulatory Consulting to support healthcare organizations through regulatory research, compliance education, policy analysis, and professional writing, with a specialized interest in mental and behavioral health and Black women’s reproductive health and rights. Her mission is to make healthcare regulatory information more understandable and actionable while contributing to more informed, equitable, and patient-centered healthcare practices.
