Welcome to Sakhi ("we", "our", or "the App"), a personal safety and emergency alert companion application. Your safety and privacy are our highest priorities. This Privacy Policy details how Sakhi accesses, processes, and protects your information.
Zero Cloud Storage: Sakhi does NOT collect, upload, store, or sell any of your personal data to remote servers or cloud databases.
Local On-Device Processing: Emergency contacts, preferences, and settings remain stored strictly on your local physical device.
No Analytics or Ads: Sakhi contains zero third-party advertising, tracking, or user profiling SDKs.
Purpose: To calculate your GPS coordinates so your trusted emergency contacts can locate you during distress.
When Accessed: Location is sampled only when an SOS is actively triggered by you (via the on-screen panic button, 3 rapid presses of the Volume buttons, or paired Bluetooth shutter).
Transmission: Location is formatted as a direct Google Maps link (https://maps.google.com/?q=lat,lon) and sent solely via SMS to your emergency contacts.
Background Policy: Location is used in the background only while an SOS emergency cycle is active (updating every 2 minutes). When SOS is idle, location tracking is completely turned off (0% background drain).
Purpose: To dispatch automated emergency text alerts to your designated emergency contacts.
Emergency SMS messages are sent directly via your device's cellular carrier SIM card.
Sakhi does NOT read, access, or inspect your personal SMS inbox or incoming text messages.
Purpose: Enables you to pick trusted contacts from your phonebook to receive emergency alerts.
Selected contacts are saved locally on your device only. We never upload or share your address book.
Purpose: To enable hardware button emergency triggers while your screen is locked or another app is open.
Strict Scope: Sakhi utilizes Android's Accessibility Service API (flagRequestFilterKeyEvents) strictly and exclusively to count 3 rapid clicks of the physical Volume keys or Bluetooth shutter within 2.5 seconds.
Sakhi does NOT monitor, record, or store keystrokes, passwords, or personal data.
Sakhi does NOT inspect or read screen content or interact with any other application on your phone.
This service must be explicitly enabled by the user in Android Accessibility Settings.
Used strictly to connect to optional Bluetooth safety triggers (e.g. cheap camera shutter buttons or custom safety clickers) to listen for panic clicks.
Used to display a persistent status notification while an SOS alert is active, allowing you to monitor and stop the emergency loop at any time.
Because all data is stored exclusively on your device, you maintain complete ownership. To permanently delete all data, you can remove contacts inside the app or uninstall the application from your device.
By retaining all data locally on your device and routing emergency dispatches directly through carrier SMS networks without intermediary cloud servers, your information is protected against remote data breaches.
