Hiten Bhuta
At the heart of Sakar Library Projects is the visionary spirit of Hiten Bhuta, a global entrepreneur and philanthropist who was once a curious young boy growing up in a humble middle-class home in rural Gujarat. As a child, Hiten had an insatiable thirst for knowledge—reading every book he could get his hands on. Over the years, he purchased and read more than 3,000 books, immersing himself in subjects ranging from science and philosophy to economics and leadership.
Hiten’s life was transformed by the power of books. Today, as the CEO of global technology firms, he attributes much of his success to the wisdom, clarity, and courage he gained from reading. His dream? To make world-class libraries accessible to children and youth in rural India—to give them the same wings of imagination and knowledge that carried him to global heights.
Through the Sakar Trust, he founded the Sakar Vachan Kutir initiative, establishing 11 libraries across rural Gujarat, creating safe, beautiful, and empowering spaces where children can read, learn, grow, and dream freely.
📌 This dream took shape through Sakar Trust and gave life to the Sakar Vachan Kutir project.
Sakar Library Projects began as a personal mission—one man’s quiet determination to give back to the villages that shaped his values and vision. Since 2010, Hiten Bhuta and the team at Sakar Trust have worked tirelessly to create thoughtfully designed reading spaces across rural Gujarat, with the first libraries opening in schools, community centers, and temples.
Each Sakar Library is more than just a room with books—it's a temple of learning, a beacon of opportunity, and a sanctuary of hope for hundreds of students.
