Sajeevini Sivajothy
Geospatial Specialist
My Story
Welcome to my Blogs!
I'm Sajeevini, served as a geospatial specialist intern at the United Nations and an OpenStreetMap trainer based in Sri Lanka. My work focuses on helping purpose-driven organizations create powerful social impacts through open data and free, open-source software. I'm currently pursuing an M.Sc. degree in GIS and Remote Sensing at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
My passion lies in GIS technologies. Beyond my professional work, I'm actively involved in volunteering for OpenStreetMap-Sri Lanka and serve as a Regional Ambassador for the Asia Pacific Region at YouthMappers.Through that, I have a unique responsibility to Promote the YouthMappers Chapter activities in my own Country. I've participated in numerous volunteer mapping projects in open mapping. In Sri Lanka, I aim to increase women's participation in OpenStreetMap. I am also an OMGuru at Open Mapping Hub Asia, especially in the Validation Track.
Since I began working with Open-Source GIS and OpenStreetMap, I've developed a wide range of skills. I enjoy writing blogs and articles, designing, managing projects, and mentoring the younger generation. I love listening to music and exploring new places through travel in my free time.
Join me on this journey and read my blogs to gain new experiences.
