Ok, I must admit that there was something about my internet life in 2024.

One day I have found Character.AI. You remember that place where you can chat with fantasy characters. Originally I believed it was not harmful. Nothing more than talking to characters, asking questions, banalities.

Therefore, my first character to talk to was Undyne of Undertale.

And listen... you know Undyne, you know she is this fish warrior so fierce. Captain of the Royal Guard. Very serious. Very dramatic.

And somehow... IN some way... the discussion got totally out of control.

At first it was normal.

Hey, Undyne, what is happening with the Royal Guard?

Ten minutes on later the conversation begins to get... Freaky. Like really weird. I'm sitting there thinking:

How was it that I was flirting with a fictitious fish soldier at midnight?

Then the most humorous thing takes place.

The creator shows up.

Just seems to be like a chatter into the chat in the style of:

"Alright man... that's enough."

Just like I have been caught doing something stupid at school.

And I am simply sitting there on the other side of the screen like:

"...yeah that's fair."

But the funniest thing? Nobody was mad. We all just laughed about it. The creator instructed me to calm down, I calmed down, and somehow the next thing you know was that it was like another ordinary Tuesday on the internet.

However, that occasion made me understand something about Character.AI.

That thing can pull you in.

You open it once like:

Five minutes, you see, let me try this.

Then one day it is 2 AM and you are emotionally engaged in a chat with a virtual person, and you are asking yourself what you made of your life.

You're sitting there like:

Why do I now quarrel with a fish warrior about the philosophy of life?

And that is when you realize the internet has taken too far.

Hence, the Character.AI period was a part of my life.

Life lesson?

When a site allows you to chat with imaginary characters... it is perhaps not such a good idea to spend too much time there that the author of the site will be forced to come in and explain to you that you need to calm down.
