The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation will hold its final Hope & Healing Mass of 2026 one month from today on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00am in the Upper Basilica. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated within Mass. Those who are in need of anointing (https://olcshrine.com/healing-masses/#healing-conditions) are invited to come forward to receive the Sacrament. All present are welcome to receive an individual blessing with the Relic of the True Cross following Mass.
Following Mass, the Knights of Columbus Council 1925 will host a lunch in the Shrine Cafeteria. All are invited to attend. A donation of $8.00 is suggested.
With the Year of Saint Francis proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV, all those who come to the Basilica in the manner of a pilgrimage, participate in the Mass or recite the Our Father, Creed, and also invoke Our Lady, Saint Francis, and the Franciscan Saints may obtain a plenary indulgence. The usual conditions—complete detachment from sin, sacramental confession, reception of Holy Communion, and prayers for the Pope's intention—must also be fulfilled.

Each year, the Diocese of Toledo celebrates the gift of marriage with the annual Mass on Anniversaries of Marriage. If you are celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary in 2026 – 25, 40, 50, 60, or 60+ years – plan to join Bishop Daniel E. Thomas for the Order of Blessing Married Couples within Holy Mass on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 3:00pm at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo.

Pilgrimage to the Beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Join Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for a pilgrimage to St. Louis, Missouri, for the Beatification Mass of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.
The pilgrimage will depart from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2255 Central Grove, Toledo, at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and return at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2026.
The Beatification Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, and presentations will also be available at the center the morning of the Beatification.
The $550 cost per person is based on double occupancy and includes transportation, accommodations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Collinsville, Illinois, meals at five restaurants along the way, and admission to the Beatification. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due with your reservation.

Every year, the Catholic Charities Office for Life leads a pilgrimage to the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. You are invited to join the Diocese of Toledo and thousands of other pro-life Americans as we march against abortion and build a culture of life. March with us into a pro-life America, where every human person is valued and protected!
Basic Itinerary
Busses leave from St. John XXIII on Thursday, January 21st.
All costs cover travel, dinner upon arrival, and two nights at the Hyatt Place on the National Mall in Washington DC.
We will be traveling with some of our most well-known priests in the Diocese, religious sisters, and many of your brothers and sisters in Christ.
We will celebrate Mass at the National Basilica and have plenty of time to see some sights following the March.
We will return on Saturday, January 23rd
2026 Century Farm Award Applications Available
Catholic Charities is now accepting applications for Century Farm Awards. This award designation honors Catholic families who have maintained a farm or homestead within their family for at least 100 years in the Diocese of Toledo, emphasizing well-preserved working farms.
Applicants must submit a registration form, copies of old deeds, and pictures to support claims. The information submitted must show family residence and ownership of a farm for at least 100 years in the Diocese of Toledo.
Applications should be submitted no later than Friday, September 11, 2026.
Bishop Daniel E. Thomas will celebrate a Mass honoring Century Farm Award recipients at 8:30a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 317 E Madison St, Gibsonburg, OH 43431.

Bishop Daniel E. Thomas has granted a partial indulgence under the usual conditions to the faithful who participate, either physically or spiritually, in the Walk for Vocations, September 27–October 1, 2026. This means that even those unable to walk the pilgrimage route can unite themselves spiritually with the Walk and share in this special spiritual benefit. Parishes are encouraged to invite the faithful to participate by walking, praying or fasting for an increase in vocations to the diocesan priesthood
