Saint Cactus
Saint Cactus
Saint Cactus is a small cactus nursery in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, specializing in rare, collectable columnar cacti in the Echinopsis and Trichocereus varieties.
These cacti have a rich history of cultural use, spanning over 3,000 years.
Evidence from archaeological sites shows its role in pre-Columbian cultures, depicted in stone carvings, pottery, and textiles as a symbol of healing, fertility and water cycles.
Indigenous medicine men used it in ceremonies for healing, protection, and connecting to nature, ancestors and the divine—often linking it to animals like jaguars and deities representing earth, sky, and water.
