Online Sainik School in Bangalore - Bangalore Military School was founded in 1946 with a nucleus of 100 south Indian boys, 50 from KGRIMC Jullundhar and 50 from KGRIMC Ajmer, under the name King George VI Royal Indian Military College, Bangalore (KGRIMC Bangalore). The current school location served as a convalescent hospital for British servicemen during World War II. The inaugural Commandant was Lt Col RHD Ross of the 8th Punjab Regiment, who afterwards shifted to RAEC. Lt Col Ross retired in 1948 and moved to the United Kingdom. Maj TW King, the first Indian Officer in Command, took his position. Civilian masters were first appointed under the tenure of Lt Col TW King.
