Quick Summary: A standalone tool is developed to delineate flood extent from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images without human intervention. The novelty of the tool/algorithm presented in this study lies in its capability to delineate floods from multiple SAR sensor images. Also, the user-friendly Graphical User-Interface (GUI) of the developed tool helps in doing its job effortlessly and rapidly on a timely basis whenever required.

Quick Summary: Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data is complex and coherent, requiring extensive data preparation before analyzing the data. This study describes the necessary pre-processing steps for preparing SAR data to extract inundated areas accurately. Various automation techniques of this process that could be possible using the SNAP S1 toolbox are also discussed so that the final product can be used for near-real-time applications.
