​​Brief biography

Prof. S. Chakrabarti completed PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada in 2006. Before completing PhD, he worked in Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Limited, India, and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India. After completing PhD, he worked as a Special Scientist at the University of Cyprus, Cyprus, and first as a Research Associate and then as a Lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. Since 2009 he worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, where he was a Chair Professor since 2018. From July 2023, he has been working as a Chair Professor and Director of the Emera and NB Power Research Centre for Smart Grid Technologies, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada.
